HOME MADE LAUNDRY SOAP!!

I MADE MY FIRST BATCH OF HOMEMADE LAUNDRY SOAP!! Ok, I know that's yelling, but I'm so excited I finally got to make it.  It was sooo easy.  The only time consuming part was grating the soap. It took about 15 minutes to do the whole bar.  It was getting to late to grate the second bar so I thought I'd do it the lazy way and cut the recipe in half.  It made 2 1/4 quart mason jars of soap.  I washed my first load of laundry tonight with this soap.  I'm waiting for the dryer to stop so I can see how they smell.  I didn't have any scent to put in the batch I had, but will buy some in a couple of weeks. Just pulled  the first load out of the dryer. No scent but a good clean smell. I know most of you probably already know the recipe, but I'll give it again anyway.

  1. 1 bar Fels-Naptha bar soap
  2. 2 cups washing soda
  3. 3 cups borax
  4. 2 cups baking soda
The neat thing is you only need 2 Tablespoons per load.

The above quantities are for the 1/2 recipe I made.  Just double if you want more.
I made labels to put on my mason jars.  I went to The Graphics Fairy and got the label and then added my blurp about Thompson's Laundry Soap.  Took me a while to figure out how to do it since I switched operating systems.  Used to be on Windows but changed over to Linux.  Once I figured it out it was sooo easy to do.  Found out a lot of things are easier to do on Linux!! Love  the system but still have a ways to go before I get all down.

I'm going to make the second batch this weekend.  Course I'll have to go over to my Mom's to get more quart jars, since I don't have enough.  She has a bunch from when she used to can vegetables from Dad's garden.  :>(  Dad's gone on to heaven and she no longer has anything to can, but that just means she has mason jars available for me to use! Next on my to do list is bake some bread and make some applesauce from recipes I got from Elizabeth at Just Following Jesus In My Real Life.   I also found a recipe from Shannon of Quarry Orchard when she was a guest blogger on My Re-purposed Life for healthy dog biscuits.  Hopefully Prince will like them.
Laundry Soap In Mason Jars

Not the best picture, but this shows the laundry soap in my mason jars before I put the labels on.  I need to get some twine and a hole punch. Who would have ever thought I would need a hole punch!!

Try to make some.  I believe you'll like the way it cleans!  I do!!

PS  I don't know why the websites I mentioned in my blog aren't popping up so you can click on them  to go to the blog. Maybe its because of my new operating system. Anyone know how to make it do that?  I'm still new to all this blog stuff so I have a lot to learn.  Any help would be most appreciated.  Thanks and have a blessed weekend.

REMEMBER:   JESUS LOVES YOU!!!
