Being Thankful-Grateful

It has been really slow today at work.  Unusual for this late in the month, but think this is the calm before the storm next week!   My mind has been on the words grateful and thankful.

thankful
The definition of thankful is someone feeling or showing gratitude.
When you are pleased and grateful for what you have

    grateful

warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received; thankful

Most of  here in the good Ole USA are so used to living good that we don't stop and think how blessed we are.  We have food, cars, homes, etc that we never stop and give thanks for what we do have.  Today I stopped and thought about it and came up with 33 things I thank God for. These are in the order that they popped into my head, so if I were to redo it they most definitely would not be in this order.

1  My cat Mazie Tata
2  My home
3 Central heat and air
4 Gas stove to cook my food
5  Food in my pantry
6  Job that I love
7  Money to pay bills, purchase food and gas and things I need and sometimes things I want
8  My great running little Honda Civic
9  Coats, gloves, hats and warm boots to keep me warm while outside in the winter cold
10  Shoes, socks, boots, rain boots to keep me warm while outside
11 Clothes to wear that are nice and lots of them
12  Bed with sheets, blankets and bedspreads to keep me warm or cool
13 Fans in summer to help me stay cool along with central air unit
14 Small heater to help keep rooms warm along with central heating unit
15 Running hot and cold water
16 Clean flushable commodes (no going to an outhouse) PTL
17 Dishwasher to wash my dishes
18 Microwave to help warmup my food I've cooked and had left over
19 Shampoo, bath wash, wash clothes and towels to help me keep clean
20 Deodorant, lotions, hair color and makeup of all types to make me smell good, keep skin soft, and make me look good from top head to soles of my feet.
21 Friends who love me and accept me as I am warts (not literally) and all
22 My children, their spouses, grandchildren, sister, brother-in-law, nieces and their husbands whom I love
23 My freedom to worship God without hinderance
24 My freedom to go wherever I want in my country or out of it
25 Freedom of speech
26 Freedom to carry a gun for my safety
27 Freedom to vote
28 My Savior, King and Bridegroom Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior
29 My God who is a wonderful loving father
30 The Holy Spirit who helps me in all things
31 Freedom to have my Bible to study and learn more about God
32 That I live in the good Ole USA
33 My awesome group of people I work with in Central Billing and my supervisor and dept manager
34 Glad I was born here in the USA

I'm sure there is more I could write down, but stopped at 33.  I added 34 because I am grateful for being born in this country despite all that's going on in it.  Just had to write this all down to help me look back and realize just how blessed I am.  I know there are people in this country who do not have a lot of these blessings, but I am so thankful for what I do have.  We in the USA should never take for granted what we have and where we live.  If it ever gets to the point where Socialism overcome Capitalism then I pray the rapture has come and takes me home to be with Jesus and the rest of my family.

Life is Good!!

Life is good!! Changes are going on in my life.  This is just the beginning of the changes, but I am so excited!!  I finally am getting to move to Tulsa to be with my two wonderful daughters.  It's scary yet exciting at the same time.  As I said it's only the beginning.  I'm in the process of getting my house decluttered, stuff sold and furniture moved to a storage unit so my house will be picture ready for the realtor to take pictures and then put on the market.  This is a short post, but just had to say how excited I am on what God is doing in my life.  New adventures, new places, new job, new church and meeting new people.   Plus the big bonus being with my daughters, grand children and of course my son-in-laws.  God is good!!  I'll keep you informed on this awesome adventure I'm headed out on.

Summer Reading

There's nothing more relaxing then reading a good book!

I've loved to read since I was a young girl in grade school. Fact is I would love a small library to fill with books I'd love to read over and over, but alas I don't have that except for 3 bookcases full of good books.   I find nothing more relaxing then sitting on my lounger on the patio reading, but, unfortunately, there are not enough of those days

As you may have read in a previous post I am decluttering my house.  I've actually stopped doing the declutter until my wonderful exchange student goes home in June.  I've enjoyed having him live with me for the past 3 months. When the weather co-operated we've been going to places in Oklahoma for him to see.  It's been an experience with him in my home.  Aitor, he's from Spain, is a vegetarian, so I've been learning to cook and eat vegetarian.  I couldn't eat that way all the time.  Love my meats way too much to do that.  When he goes home I intend to start going back to Keto way of eating.  I felt much better on it than I do eating any other way.  All that aside, here's what I am going to read this summer.

The Magnolia Story - Chip and Joanna Gaines The Magnolia Story

Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff  - Chip Gaines

The Paradigm - Jonathan Cahn

The Circle Maker - Mark Batterson

The Trump Prophecies - The Trump Prophecies: The Astonishing True Story of the Man Who Saw Tomorrow... and What He Says Is Coming Next

I figured I'd balance two secular books with three spiritual books.  I've learned to enjoy life by balancing out my God time with rest of my time.  Put Him first and the rest seems to fall into place.

I know this is not the most exciting post, but since I'm an avid reader then I figured why not write a post about what I enjoy reading.  I'll throw in some books I just purchased on organizing and decluttering along with these, but figured that would make for a very long post! LOL

Everyone have an enjoyable summer and try not to get too sunburned.
